Generally, our classes start with an energiser and then we move on to speaking & drama activities related to the topic we are exploring. The class will end with a quick recap of our lesson activities.
Parents & guardians are not permitted in the class during lesson time as our students engage in our class activities more easily without the pressure of an audience in the room.
At the end of each Semester, we invite parents to attend the ‘presentation class’.
Presentation Class, held during your child’s final scheduled class of the semester. This special class is an open session where parents are warmly welcomed to come into the classroom and be our audience.
Presentation Class offers our students a unique opportunity to step out of their comfort zones and practice presenting in front of an adult audience. For many, this may be their first experience delivering a presentation independently to adults. While it often takes a few sessions for students to feel more comfortable, this is an essential step in their public speaking journey, helping them build confidence and develop invaluable communication skills over time.
Additionally, this session provides a wonderful chance for parents to witness some of the work their children have accomplished throughout the semester.
During the semester, students have the opportunity to present two speeches in class—one in each term. Detailed information about preparing for these speeches, as well as the presentation dates, can be found in the term calendar provided in your child’s folder.
In addition to speeches, students may occasionally be asked to prepare specific activities for the class, such as memorizing lines from a script, learning a poem, or preparing for a short presentation. While much of this work is completed during class time, we encourage students to practice and prepare at home as well. This extra effort greatly supports their development and confidence.
If, for any reason, your child is unable or would prefer not to present their speech, please don’t hesitate to let us know in advance. We are happy to accommodate their needs and ensure a positive experience for everyone.
At the start of each semester—or when they join the program—students will receive a folder containing term outlines, course information, and other essential resources.
We kindly ask you to encourage your child to check the term outline before each class to ensure they are aware of any preparations needed for that week’s lesson.
Please take care of this folder, as it is an important tool for your child’s learning. If the folder is lost, a replacement can be purchased for $20.
Thank you for your support in helping your child stay organized and prepared!
Please note that we are unable to offer make-up classes, refunds, or discounts for missed classes. This policy helps us maintain a consistent and stable learning environment for all students while minimizing disruptions to the class schedule.
